Prov’l gov’t turns over BHS, office equipment, provides rice assistance in Governor Generoso

The Provincial Government of Davao Oriental had turned over a recently completed Barangay Health Station (BHS) in Barangay Manuel Roxas in Governor Generoso, in time for its 9th Founding Anniversary Celebration last February 7, 2015, Saturday.

Personally turned over by Governor Corazon N. Malanyaon, this Provincial Government-funded infrastructure project intends to boost health services in the countryside that are often deprived of much-needed health facilities and services.

With a project cost of seven hundred thousand pesos, Gov. Malanyaon urged the beneficiary barangay to help look after the maintenance of this project so that it would last in the long term and would serve more patients in the future.

Besides the health station, the Provincial Government also handed over brand new office equipment and furniture for the Barangay Hall funded under the Provincial Aide to Barangays. She said this would help give barangay workers better working environment and make office operation more convenient.

Meanwhile, giving residents here a festive feel, each of the 612 families in this barangay was given 4 kilos of rice.

Barangay Chairman Sergio Pusta said this assistance would really help his constituents. He thanked the Provincial Government under the leadership of Governor Malanyaon for placing lots of development not only in his village but as well the entire municipality of Governor Generoso.

He also cited the ongoing ‘Operation Kalsada’ implemented by the Provincial Government here that would definitely benefit many residents here, especially those in far-flung sitios.

He urged his constituents to continue showing their support to the Provincial Government and to stand united towards progress and development. He noted ‘unity’ as an important element and should be at the core of every local government unit. PIO
