The provincial government’s Handog Titulo Program is intended to give out land titles to residents who had been living in the lands that they do not legally own.

A ceremonial turning over the land titles to the residents in Magsaysay, Brgy. Central was held here last March 1, 2013. This was attended by beneficiaries, guests and the committee who are responsible to the realization of the said program. The committee is composed of Provincial Task Force for Socialized Housing, Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office, City Environment and Natural Resources Office, Registry of Deeds and the barangay officials.

This ambition of having to own their land titles started in 1976. With the province’s program, over ten hectares of residential land is turned over to the Magsaysay residents when accomplished last December 21, 2011.

A 67-year old resident Ernesto Y. Arias who had been living in the area since year 1959 expressed his gratitude upon receiving the land title with his own hands.

Governor Corazon N. Malanyaon congratulated the beneficiaries and stated that the land titles are there to be a symbol of security for the families and a remembrance from the government.

133 land titles were personally handed out by Governor Malanyaon during that afternoon’s ceremony. Some had already received their land titles prior to the event. The others would be receiving their titles on the following week.
