Projects reach far-flung communities

Davao Oriental – The Provincial Government turned over a Certificate of Completed Projects to Barangay Magdug, one of the outlying barangays in Governor Generoso town, on their 21st founding anniversary last August 10, 2015.

Funded under the Provincial Aide for 2012-2013 Budget amounting to P400,000.00, the projects implemented and completed here include two ready-to-use rehabilitated footbridge connecting far flung Puroks of Barangay Magdug, brand new horsepower water pump and new fences of the Barangay Hall.

Personally turned over by Governor Corazon N. Malanyaon to Magdug’s Punong Barangay Benjur Montalban, these projects hope to make a difference to local residents’ everyday lives, particularly in terms of access to clean water and ease of transport.   

“This turnover testifies the major thrust of the Provincial Government in reaching the grassroots communities by providing the people the development projects they deserve,” said the Governor.

She urged the local residents to continue giving their support and active participation to the Provincial Government’s programs bent on development. “Let’s continue to cooperate with our local leaders as we can achieve our desired development more if we are united,” she said.

Alongside with these turned over projects were rice supports and medical assistance to the people of Magdug.

Meanwhile, Montalban expressed his thanks to the support provided by the Provincial Government, noting these projects will make a long way in providing ease to the local residents’ everyday lives.

Gracing the occasion were Provincial Board Members Anacleto P. Macatabog, Niño Sotero Uy, Dennis Roflo and Daud Linsag.

Their presence, according to Montalban affirms their undying efforts and noble supports to reach communities and touch people’s hearts beyond expectations. By Van Jorain O. Rufin
