New vehicles turned over to hasten social services


This ambulance is only one of the four service vehicle the Provincial Government has recently turned over.

Province of Davao Oriental—The Provincial Government turned over ambulances and service vehicles to various local provincial government-run institutions in order to hasten delivery of social services for the poor, particularly those in remote areas.

The vehicles that were turned over include two brand new Mitsubishi Deluxe ambulances for Manay District Hospital and Lupon District Hospital, a cargo truck for the far-flung barangay in Cabuaya, and a multicab service vehicle for the Halfway house for rebel returnees called the Happy Home.

Governor Corazon N. Malanyaon who led the ceremonial turn over said these new vehicles are symbol of the provincial government’s genuine commitment to help the poor and fast track delivery of basic social services to the constituents.

The governor said she hopes that said these service vehicles will boost the efficient and effective implementation of government programs and services that address the needs of the people.

She stressed that importance of providing these vehicles, which serve many purposes in transporting patients, mobilization of basic services, and even in disaster response.

At the ceremonial turn over, Governor Malanyaon reminded the recipients to take care of the vehicles in order to extend its service life. She further told them to choose the operators and drivers who will look after the proper maintenance and repair of the vehicles.

She said that more people could be reached while more expenses on repair cost and maintenance can be cut if responsible people are allowed to handle these vehicles. She further told them that as stewards of these ‘gifts’ they have the responsibility to use it for good and for the benefit of the people. PIO
