DAVAO ORIENTAL – Aiming to bridge the gap between the jobless skilled workers and the employers or enterprises that are looking for qualified skilled workers, the Provincial Government facilitated the Pre-Registration Seminar among National Certificate holders of the province yesterday, May 21, at the Provincial Capitol Covered Court.

Attended by a total of 60 National Certificate licentiates, the Pre-Registration Seminar is a requirement among the NC holders who will soon become members of the Service Cooperative that the Provincial Government intends to organize.

During the seminar, Carlo Boji Nazareno of Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) has introduced to the NC holders the different technicalities in establishing a service cooperative, including its monetary requirement and by-laws.

Ednar G. Dayanghirang, Provincial Governor’s Chief-of-Staff, said that creation of the service cooperative will help in reducing the province’s poverty incidence by curbing its unemployment rate which is anchored on the Governor’s Inclusive Governance Framework.

Through the envisioned service cooperative of skilled workers here, employment and livelihood opportunities will be created for the aspiring applicants and at the same time ensuring employers of qualified workers.

The office of the Chief-of-Staff, in coordination with the Public Employment Services Office, will be meeting with the National Certificate Holders in the following weeks to finally establish the first service cooperative in the province. Photos and Texts by Riza Golez
